I am one of many Cornell faculty working in the areas of macroeconomic policy, both in the U.S. and in low income countries. Recent work has included studies of the economies of Portuguese speaking African countries (particularly Angola and Mozambique), the outlook for the U.S. economy, and issues in the management of transition economies in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

I currently teach two courses. Open Economy Analysis (co-taught with Nancy Chau) is a graduate course in methods for analysing the macroeconomies of low-income countries. Introduction to Macroeconomics is an introductory course in macroeconomics.

I am also Director of Graduate Studies for the College of Agriculture and Life Science's MPS program in International Agriculture and Rural Development (IARD) and also International (ID). More information on these programs can be found here.
