I am one of many Cornell faculty working in the area of macroeconomic policy, both in the U.S. and in low income countries. Recent work has included studies of the economies of Portuguese speaking African countries (particularly Angola and Mozambique), the outlook for the U.S. economy, and issues in the management of transition economies in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

I currently teach three courses. Economics of Agricultural Development is a course aimed at providing a survey of the economics of low-income countries with a particular focus on rural development issues. Introduction to Economics of Development is an introductory course in the economics of low income countries. I also teach a sophomore writing course, AEM 2800, named "Hot Topics in the US Economy"

I am also Director of Graduate Studies for the College of Agriculture and Life Science's MPS program in International Agriculture and Rural Development (IARD) and also International (ID). More information on these programs can be found here.1
