Fall 2014 office hours - 1:15-2:15 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays or by appointment.

I am one of many Cornell faculty working in the area of macroeconomic policy, both in the U.S. and in low income countries. Recent work has included studies of the economies of Portuguese speaking African countries (particularly Angola and Mozambique), the outlook for the U.S. economy, and issues in the management of transition economies in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

I currently teach three courses. Economics of Agricultural Development is a course aimed at providing a survey of the economics of low-income countries with a particular focus on rural development issues. Introduction to Economics of Development is an introductory course in the economics of low income countries. I also teach a seminar for graduate students in the grad degree program I direct.

I am also Director of Graduate Studies for the College of Agriculture and Life Science's MPS program in International Agriculture and Rural Development (IARD) and also International (ID). More information on these programs can be found here.
